SD Dept of Health reports no COVID-19 related deaths

PIERRE, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported no new COVID-related deaths, while active cases decreased while hospitalizations increased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 1,923. The state had 128 new cases and 132 recoveries, decreasing active infections to 2,240. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 70.

So far, South Dakota has had 117,100 cases and 111,937 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 2 new cases and 6 recoveries. The county currently has 60 active cases. Overall, the county has had 5,244 cases and 5,093 recoveries. There’s currently 91 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 29,115 cases, followed by Pennington County with 13,177, and Lincoln County with 8,091. Other counties totals include Codington with 4,152, Brookings with 3,717, Davison with 3,038, Lawrence with 2,879, and Yankton with 2,878.

Statewide 219,400 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 37% of the state) with 136,508 completing vaccination(over 23% of the state).  Brown County has 10,315 receiving at least one shot & 6,177 completing vaccination.
