SD Dept of Health reports no COVID-19 related deaths

PIERRE, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported no new COVID-related deaths, while active cases decreased & hospitalizations increased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 1,953. The state had 171 new cases and 246 recoveries, decreasing active infections to 2,079. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 124.

So far, South Dakota has had 121,360 cases and 117,329 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 9 new cases and 6 recoveries. The county currently has 84 active cases. Overall, the county has had 5,442 cases and 5,267 recoveries. There’s currently 91 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 30,973 cases, followed by Pennington County with 13,483, and Lincoln County with 8,518. Other counties totals include Codington with 4,489, Brookings with 4,113, Davison with 3,187, Yankton with 3,025, and Lawrence with 2,930.

Statewide 317,780 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(under 53% of the state) with 236,142 completing vaccination(over 39% of the state).  Brown County has 15,386 receiving at least one shot & 11,374 completing vaccination.
