SD Dept of Health reports no COVID-19 related deaths for the 6th straight day

PIERRE, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported no new COVID-related deaths, while active cases increased & hospitalizations decreased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 1,938. The state had 295 new cases and 203 recoveries, increasing active infections to 2,511. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 94.

So far, South Dakota has had 118,975 cases and 114,526 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 13 new cases and 10 recoveries. The county currently has 91 active cases. Overall, the county has had 5,356 cases and 5,174 recoveries. There’s currently 91 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 30,205 cases, followed by Pennington County with 13,315, and Lincoln County with 8,346. Other counties totals include Codington with 4,252, Brookings with 3,907, Davison with 3,133, Yankton with 2,963, and Lawrence with 2,905.

Statewide 280,942 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 47% of the state) with 190,362 completing vaccination(over 32% of the state).  Brown County has 13,365 receiving at least one shot & 9,225 completing vaccination.
