SD Dept of Health reports no COVID-19 related deaths for the weekend, over 300,000 people fully vaccinated

PIERRE, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported no new COVID-related deaths for the weekend, while active cases  & hospitalizations decreased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 1,981. The state had 126 new cases and 236 recoveries, decreasing active infections to 1,100. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 66.

So far, South Dakota has had 123,435 cases and 120,354 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 10 new cases and 10 recoveries. The county currently has 75 active cases. Overall, the county has had 5,566 cases and 5,399 recoveries. There’s currently 92 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 31,561 cases, followed by Pennington County with 13,726, and Lincoln County with 8,671, Other counties totals include Codington with 4,632, Brookings with 4,208, Davison with 3,230, Yankton with 3,087, and Lawrence with 2,976.

Statewide 335,301 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(under 56% of the state) with 302,997 completing vaccination(under 50% of the state).  Brown County has 16,184 receiving at least one shot & 14,807 completing vaccination.
