SD Dept of Health reports no COVID-19 related deaths for the weekend

PIERRE, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported no new COVID-related deaths, while active cases decreased & hospitalizations increased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 1,953. The state had 133 new cases and 190 recoveries, decreasing active infections to 2,153. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 116.

So far, South Dakota has had 121,189 cases and 117,083 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 4 new cases and 3 recoveries. The county currently has 81 active cases. Overall, the county has had 5,433 cases and 5,261 recoveries. There’s currently 91 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 30,909 cases, followed by Pennington County with 13,468, and Lincoln County with 8,503. Other counties totals include Codington with 4,479, Brookings with 4,102, Davison with 3,184, Yankton with 3,023, and Lawrence with 2,927.

Statewide 317,583 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(under 53% of the state) with 235,633 completing vaccination(over 39% of the state).  Brown County has 15,383 receiving at least one shot & 11,306 completing vaccination.
