SD Dept of Health reports no COVID-19 related deaths

PIERRE, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported no new COVID-related deaths, while active cases & hospitalizations increased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 1,919. The state had 319 new cases and 259 recoveries, increasing active infections to 2,240. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 68.

So far, South Dakota has had 115,518 cases and 111,359 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 4 new cases and 9 recoveries. The county currently has 75 active cases. Overall, the county has had 5,233 cases and 5,068 recoveries. There’s currently 90 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 28,920 cases, followed by Pennington County with 13,148, and Lincoln County with 8,015. Other counties totals include Codington with 4,125, Brookings with 3,695, Davison with 3,019, Lawrence with 2,875, and Yankton with 2,862.

Statewide 210,032 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(under 36% of the state) with 127,912 completing vaccination(over 22% of the state).  Brown County has 9,744 receiving at least one shot & 5,954 completing vaccination.
