SD Dept of Health reports no new COVID-19 deaths, the percentage vaccinated adjusted to include ages 12 & older

PIERRE, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported no new COVID-related deaths, while active cases & hospitalizations decreased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 1,994. The state had 40 new cases and 76 recoveries, decreasing active infections to 674. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 53.

So far, South Dakota has had 123,822 cases and 121,154 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 8 new cases and 9 recoveries. The county currently has 50 active cases. Overall, the county has had 5,599 cases and 5,457 recoveries. There’s currently 92 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 31,643 cases, followed by Pennington County with 13,780, and Lincoln County with 8,695, Other counties totals include Codington with 4,644, Brookings with 4,218, Davison with 3,238, Yankton with 3,098, and Lawrence with 2,992.

Statewide 342,510 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 53% of the state) with 313,526 completing vaccination(over 48% of the state).  Brown County has 16,486 receiving at least one shot & 15,295 completing vaccination.
