SD Dept of Health reports no new COVID-19 deaths

PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported no new COVID-related deaths, while active cases decreased & hospitalizations increased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,001. The state had 34 new cases and 100 recoveries, decreasing active infections to 568. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 61.

So far, South Dakota has had 123,911 cases and 121,342 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 4 new cases and 11 recoveries. The county currently has 45 active cases. Overall, the county has had 5,608 cases and 5,471 recoveries. There’s currently 92 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 31,658 cases, followed by Pennington County with 13,791, and Lincoln County with 8,696, Other counties totals include Codington with 4,646, Brookings with 4,221, Davison with 3,239, Yankton with 3,102, and Lawrence with 2,996.

Statewide 344,820 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 53% of the state) with 315,496 completing vaccination(over 48% of the state).  Brown County has 16,561 receiving at least one shot & 15,311 completing vaccination.
