SD Dept of Health reports no new COVID-19 related death, are resuming daily update

PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported no new COVID-related death, while active cases & hospitalizations increased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,051. The state had 153 new cases and 92 recoveries, increasing active infections to 1,210. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 76.

So far, South Dakota has had 126,607 cases and 123,346 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 4 new cases and 2 recoveries. The county currently has 35 active cases. Overall, the county has had 5,695 cases and 5,565 recoveries. There’s currently 95 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 32,329 cases, followed by Pennington County with 14,342, and Lincoln County with 8,834, Other counties totals include Codington with 4,709, Brookings with 4,326, Davison with 3,277, Yankton with 3,126, and Lawrence with 3,087.

Statewide 390,837 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 60% of the state) with 362,227 completing vaccination(under 55% of the state). Brown County has 18,588 receiving at least one shot & 17,680 completing vaccination.
