SD Dept of Health reports no new COVID-19 related deaths

PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported no new COVID-related deaths, while active cases & hospitalizations increased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,030. The state had 20 new cases and 16 recoveries, increasing active infections to 174. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 21.

So far, South Dakota has had 124,512 cases and 122,308 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 2 new cases and 1 recovery. The county currently has 6 active cases. Overall, the county has had 5,642 cases and 5,541 recoveries. There’s currently 95 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 31,767 cases, followed by Pennington County with 13,928, and Lincoln County with 8,722, Other counties totals include Codington with 4,655, Brookings with 4,235, Davison with 3,251, Yankton with 3,115, and Lawrence with 3,009.

Statewide 365,696 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 56% of the state) with 342,584 completing vaccination(over 52% of the state). Brown County has 17,466 receiving at least one shot & 16,633 completing vaccination.
