SD Dept of Health reports no new COVID-19 related deaths

PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported no new COVID-related deaths, while active cases & hospitalizations stayed the same, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,057. The state had 304 new cases and 103 recoveries, increasing active infections to 2,332. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 125.

So far, South Dakota has had 128,295 cases and 123,906 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 5 new cases and 1 recovery. The county currently has 45 active cases. Overall, the county has had 5,715 cases and 5,575 recoveries. There’s currently 95 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 32,653 cases, followed by Pennington County with 14,744, and Lincoln County with 8,939, Other counties totals include Codington with 4,743, Brookings with 4,379, Davison with 3,296, Lawrence with 3,189, and Yankton with 3,147.

Statewide 397,220 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(under 61% of the state) with 367,027 completing vaccination(over 55% of the state). Brown County has 18,824 receiving at least one shot & 17,702 completing vaccination.
