SD Dept of Health reports no new COVID-19 related deaths

PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported no new COVID-related deaths, while active cases & hospitalizations increased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health through Friday. The death total currently at 2,057. The state had 331 new cases and 74 recoveries, increasing active infections to 2,589. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 127.

So far, South Dakota has had 128,626 cases and 123,980 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 1 new case and 3 recoveries. The county currently has 43 active cases. Overall, the county has had 5,716 cases and 5,578 recoveries. There’s currently 95 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 32,701 cases, followed by Pennington County with 14,827, and Lincoln County with 8,954, Other counties totals include Codington with 4,749, Brookings with 4,392, Davison with 3,300, Lawrence with 3,220, and Yankton with 3,149.

Statewide 397,491 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(under 61% of the state) with 367,256 completing vaccination(over 55% of the state). Brown County has 18,845 receiving at least one shot & 17,715 completing vaccination.
