SD Dept of Health reports no new COVID-19 related deaths

PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported no new COVID-related deaths, while active cases & hospitalizations increased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,057. The state had 785 new cases and 260 recoveries, increasing active infections to 3,114. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 141.

So far, South Dakota has had 129,411 cases and 124,240 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 10 new cases and 6 recoveries. The county currently has 47 active cases. Overall, the county has had 5,726 cases and 5,584 recoveries. There’s currently 95 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 32,823 cases, followed by Pennington County with 15,020, and Lincoln County with 8,984, Other counties totals include Codington with 4,763, Brookings with 4,410, Davison with 3,312, Lawrence with 3,285, and Meaded with 3,168.

Statewide 399,910 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(above 61% of the state) with 369,350 completing vaccination(under 56% of the state). Brown County has 18,929 receiving at least one shot & 17,800 completing vaccination.
