SD Dept of Health reports no new COVID-19 related deaths

PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported no new COVID-related deaths, while active cases & hospitalizations increased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,069. The state had 578 new cases and 243 recoveries, increasing active infections to 5,370. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 229.

So far, South Dakota has had 132,837 cases and 125,398 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 27 new cases and 3 recoveries. The county currently has 124 active cases. Overall, the county has had 5,828 cases and 5,609 recoveries. There’s currently 95 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 33,334 cases, followed by Pennington County with 16,026, and Lincoln County with 9,151, Other counties totals include Codington with 4,818, Brookings with 4,512, Lawrence with 3,505, Meade with 3,472, and Davison with 3,371.

Statewide 404,988 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(below 62% of the state) with 373,704 completing vaccination(over 56% of the state). Brown County has 19,145 receiving at least one shot & 18,039 completing vaccination.
