SD Dept of Health reports no new COVID-19 related deaths

PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported no new COVID-related deaths, while active cases increased & hospitalizations decreased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health through Friday. The death total currently at 2,072. The state had 453 new cases and 239 recoveries, increasing active infections to 6,182. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 213.

So far, South Dakota has had 134,308 cases and 126,052 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 15 new cases and 8 recoveries. The county currently has 155 active cases. Overall, the county has had 5,868 cases and 5,618 recoveries. There’s currently 95 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 33,566 cases, followed by Pennington County with 16,438 and Lincoln County with 9,223, Other counties totals include Codington with 4,843, Brookings with 4,550, Lawrence with 3,598, Meade with 3,591, and Davison with 3,401.

Statewide 407,909 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(above 62% of the state) with 375,856 completing vaccination(over 56% of the state). Brown County has 19,310 receiving at least one shot & 18,182 completing vaccination.
