SD Dept of Health reports no new COVID-19 related deaths

PIERRE, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported no new COVID-related deaths, while active cases decreased & hospitalizations increased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 1,962. The state had 135 new cases and 201 recoveries, decreasing active infections to 1,722. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 115.

So far, South Dakota has had 122,532 cases and 118,848 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 5 new cases and 8 recoveries. The county currently has 73 active cases. Overall, the county has had 5,499 cases and 5,335 recoveries. There’s currently 91 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 31,292 cases, followed by Pennington County with 13,592, and Lincoln County with 8,618. Other counties totals include Codington with 4,581, Brookings with 4,178, Davison with 3,214, Yankton with 3,069, and Lawrence with 2,955.

Statewide 326,860 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 54% of the state) with 271,565 completing vaccination(over 45% of the state).  Brown County has 15,797 receiving at least one shot & 13,329 completing vaccination.
