SD Dept of Health reports no new COVID-19 related deaths

PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported no new COVID-related deaths, while active cases decreased & hospitalizations increased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,177. The state had 1.088 new cases and 1.538 recoveries, decreasing active infections to 6,089. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 207.

So far, South Dakota has had 149,337 cases and 141,071 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 65 new cases and 61 recoveries. The county currently has 224 active cases. Overall, the county has had 6,445 cases and 6,124 recoveries. There’s currently 97 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 36,617 cases, followed by Pennington County with 19,840 and Lincoln County with 10,052, Other counties totals include Codington with 5,358, Brookings with 5,029, Meade with 4,358, Lawrence with 4,210, and Davison with 3,664.

Statewide 427,298 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 65% of the state) with 395,651 completing vaccination(over 59% of the state). Brown County has 20,109 receiving at least one shot & 19,085 completing vaccination.
