SD Dept of Health reports no new COVID-19 related deaths

PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported no new COVID-related deaths, while active cases increased & hospitalizations decreased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,267. The state had 401 new cases and 297 recoveries, increasing active infections to 5,961. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 186.

So far, South Dakota has had 157,396 cases and 149,168 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 18 new cases and 16 recoveries. The county currently has 301 active cases. Overall, the county has had 6,851 cases and 6,450 recoveries. There’s currently 100 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 38,060 cases, followed by Pennington County with 21,354 and Lincoln County with 10,438, Other counties totals include Codington with 5,680, Brookings with 5,183, Meade with 4,666, Lawrence with 4,453, and Davison with 3,799.

Statewide 454,493 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 68% of the state) with 419,502 completing vaccination(over 58% of the state).  Statewide 75,288 have received the booster shot.

Brown County has 20,991 receiving at least one shot & 19,841 completing vaccination. 3,573 receiving the booster shot.
