SD Dept of Health reports no new COVID-19 related deaths

PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported no new COVID-related deaths, while active cases increased & hospitalizations decreased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,468. The state had 1,265 new cases and 1,219 recoveries, increasing active infections to 7,271. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 228.

So far, South Dakota has had 177,451 cases and 167,712 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 36 new cases and 39 recoveries. The county currently has 220 active cases. Overall, the county has had 7,620 cases and 7,293 recoveries. There’s currently 107 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 42,949 cases, followed by Pennington County with 23,691 and Lincoln County with 11,745, Other counties totals include Codington with 6,418, Brookings with 5,718, Meade with 5,159, Lawrence with 4,919, and Davison with 4,489.

Statewide 494,061 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 67% of the state) with 444,129 completing vaccination(over 55% of the state).  Statewide 167,535 have received the booster shot(under 26% of the state).

Brown County has 22,652 receiving at least one shot & 21,128 completing vaccination. 8,557 receiving the booster shot.
