SD Dept of Health reports no new COVID-19 related deaths

PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported no new COVID-related deaths, while active cases & hospitalizations decreased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,742. The state had 433 new cases and 2,398 recoveries, decreasing active infections to 11,283. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 249.

So far, South Dakota has had 233,441 cases and 219,416 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 15 new cases and 143 recoveries. The county currently has 641 active cases. Overall, the county has had 10,075 cases and 9,319 recoveries. There’s currently 115 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 56,550 cases, followed by Pennington County with 32,197 and Lincoln County with 15,371, Other counties totals include Codington with 8,273, Brookings with 8,032, Meade with 6,861, Lawrence with 6,481, and Yankton with 5,854.

Statewide 513,937 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 70% of the state) with 461,996 completing vaccination(under 58% of the state).  Statewide 205,244 have received the booster shot(over 31% of the state).

Brown County has 23,484 receiving at least one shot & 22,020 completing vaccination. 10,628 receiving the booster shot.
