SD Dept of Health reports no new COVID-19 related deaths

PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported no new COVID-related deaths, while active cases & hospitalizations increased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,928. The state had 653 new cases and 445 recoveries, increasing active infections to 1,678. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 52.

So far, South Dakota has had 240,357 cases and 235,751 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 17 new cases and 18 recoveries. The county currently has 54 active cases. Overall, the county has had 10,400 cases and 10,225 recoveries. There’s currently 121 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 57,792 cases, followed by Pennington County with 33,237 and Lincoln County with 15,701, Other counties totals include Codington with 8,575, Brookings with 8,213, Meade with 7,120, Lawrence with 6,656, and Yankton with 5,978.

Statewide 525,581 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 73% of the state).

Brown County has 23,842 receiving at least one shot.
