PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported no new COVID-related deaths, while active cases increased & hospitalizations decreased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,928. The state had 969 new cases and 474 recoveries, increasing active infections to 2,173. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 49.
So far, South Dakota has had 241,326 cases and 236,225 recoveries.
Locally, Brown County had 25 new cases and 16 recoveries. The county currently has 63 active cases. Overall, the county has had 10,425 cases and 10,241 recoveries. There’s currently 121 Covid-related deaths.
Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 57,961 cases, followed by Pennington County with 33,456 and Lincoln County with 15,746, Other counties totals include Codington with 8,620, Brookings with 8,266, Meade with 7,166, Lawrence with 6,689, and Yankton with 5,992.
Statewide 526,326 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 73% of the state).
Brown County has 23,853 receiving at least one shot.
