SD Dept of Health reports no new COVID-19 related deaths

PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported no new COVID-related deaths, while active cases decreased & hospitalizations increased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,004. The state had 49 new cases and 75 recoveries, decreasing active infections to 421. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 48.

So far, South Dakota has had 124,071 cases and 121,646 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 3 new cases and 7 recoveries. The county currently has 33 active cases. Overall, the county has had 5,623 cases and 5,497 recoveries. There’s currently 93 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 31,684 cases, followed by Pennington County with 13,815, and Lincoln County with 8,704, Other counties totals include Codington with 4,647, Brookings with 4,226, Davison with 3,239, Yankton with 3,106, and Lawrence with 3,004.

Statewide 348,862 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 54% of the state) with 319,498 completing vaccination(under 49% of the state).  Brown County has 16,670 receiving at least one shot & 15,561 completing vaccination.
