SD Dept of Health reports no new COVID-19 related deaths

PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported no new COVID-related deaths, while active cases decreased & hospitalizations increased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,004. The state had 34 new cases and 39 recoveries, decreasing active infections to 416. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 49.

So far, South Dakota has had 124,105 cases and 121,685 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 2 new cases and 1 recoveries. The county currently has 34 active cases. Overall, the county has had 5,625 cases and 5,498 recoveries. There’s currently 93 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 31,688 cases, followed by Pennington County with 13,825, and Lincoln County with 8,705, Other counties totals include Codington with 4,647, Brookings with 4,226, Davison with 3,240, Yankton with 3,105, and Lawrence with 3,004.

Statewide 349,738 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 54% of the state) with 320,293 completing vaccination(over 49% of the state).  Brown County has 16,717 receiving at least one shot & 15,609 completing vaccination.
