SD Dept of Health reports no new COVID-19 related deaths

PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported no new COVID-related deaths, while active cases & hospitalizations decreased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,026. The state had 11 new cases and 17 recoveries, increasing active infections to 221. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 34.

So far, South Dakota has had 124,343 cases and 122,096 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had no new cases and 2 recoveries. The county currently has 9 active cases. Overall, the county has had 5,635 cases and 5,531 recoveries. There’s currently 95 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 31,739 cases, followed by Pennington County with 13,873, and Lincoln County with 8,715, Other counties totals include Codington with 4,650, Brookings with 4,234, Davison with 3,246, Yankton with 3,112, and Lawrence with 3,007.

Statewide 359,119 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(under 56% of the state) with 332,494 completing vaccination(under 51% of the state). Brown County has 17,181 receiving at least one shot & 16,102 completing vaccination.
