PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported no new COVID-related deaths through Friday, while active cases & hospitalizations decreased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,026. The state had 17 new cases and 19 recoveries, increasing active infections to 215. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 26.
So far, South Dakota has had 124,356 cases and 122,115 recoveries.
Locally, Brown County had no new cases and 1 recoveries. The county currently has 8 active cases. Overall, the county has had 5,635 cases and 5,532 recoveries. There’s currently 95 Covid-related deaths.
Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 31,748 cases, followed by Pennington County with 13,874, and Lincoln County with 8,715, Other counties totals include Codington with 4,650, Brookings with 4,234, Davison with 3,246, Yankton with 3,112, and Lawrence with 3,007.
Statewide 359,869 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(under 56% of the state) with 333,670 completing vaccination(under 51% of the state). Brown County has 17,220 receiving at least one shot & 16,141 completing vaccination.
