SD Dept of Health reports no new COVID-19 related deaths

PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported no new COVID-related deaths through Monday, while active cases decreased & hospitalizations increased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,026. The state had 25 new cases and 50 recoveries, increasing active infections to 186. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 29.

So far, South Dakota has had 124,377 cases and 122,165 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had no new cases and 2 recoveries. The county currently has 6 active cases. Overall, the county has had 5,635 cases and 5,534 recoveries. There’s currently 95 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 31,750 cases, followed by Pennington County with 13,880, and Lincoln County with 8,717, Other counties totals include Codington with 4,650, Brookings with 4,235, Davison with 3,247, Yankton with 3,112, and Lawrence with 3,008.

Statewide 360,616 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(under 56% of the state) with 334,967 completing vaccination(over 51% of the state). Brown County has 17,249 receiving at least one shot & 16,180 completing vaccination.
