SD Dept of Health reports no new COVID-19 related deaths

PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported no new COVID-related deaths through Monday, while active cases decreased & hospitalizations increased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,026. The state had 10 new cases and 21 recoveries, increasing active infections to 170. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 28.

So far, South Dakota has had 124,382 cases and 122,186 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had no new cases and no recoveries. The county currently has 6 active cases. Overall, the county has had 5,635 cases and 5,534 recoveries. There’s currently 95 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 31,747 cases, followed by Pennington County with 13,886, and Lincoln County with 8,719, Other counties totals include Codington with 4,649, Brookings with 4,235, Davison with 3,247, Yankton with 3,112, and Lawrence with 3,008.

Statewide 361,096 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(under 56% of the state) with 335,865 completing vaccination(over 51% of the state). Brown County has 17,262 receiving at least one shot & 16,209 completing vaccination.
