SD Dept of Health reports no new COVID-19 related deaths, active cases below 500

PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported no new COVID-related deaths(through the weekend), while active cases & hospitalizations decreased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,004. The state had 81 new cases and 155 recoveries, decreasing active infections to 448. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 41.

So far, South Dakota has had 124,023 cases and 121,571 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 10 new cases and 15 recoveries. The county currently has 37 active cases. Overall, the county has had 5,620 cases and 5,490 recoveries. There’s currently 93 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 31,680 cases, followed by Pennington County with 13,806, and Lincoln County with 8,702, Other counties totals include Codington with 4,646, Brookings with 4,223, Davison with 3,239, Yankton with 3,103, and Lawrence with 3,001.

Statewide 347,952 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(under 54% of the state) with 317,817 completing vaccination(under 49% of the state).  Brown County has 16,658 receiving at least one shot & 15,458 completing vaccination.
