SD Dept of Health reports 2 new COVID-19 related deaths for the weekend

PIERRE, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 2 new COVID-related deaths for the weekend, while active cases  & hospitalizations decreased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 1,960. The state had 94 new cases and 141 recoveries, decreasing active infections to 1,822. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 96.

So far, South Dakota has had 122,080 cases and 118,298 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 4 new cases and 5 recoveries. The county currently has 63 active cases. Overall, the county has had 5,467 cases and 5,313 recoveries. There’s currently 91 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 31,163 cases, followed by Pennington County with 13,550, and Lincoln County with 8,583. Other counties totals include Codington with 4,538, Brookings with 4,153, Davison with 3,206, Yankton with 3,057, and Lawrence with 2,943.

Statewide 325,047 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(under 54% of the state) with 257,170 completing vaccination(over 43% of the state).  Brown County has 15,735 receiving at least one shot & 12,580 completing vaccination
