SD Dept of Health reports no new COVID-19 related deaths on Friday

PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported no new COVID-related deaths through Friday, while active cases decreased & hospitalizations increased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,022. The state had 14 new cases and 36 recoveries, decreasing active infections to 242. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 40.

So far, South Dakota has had 124,273 cases and 122,009 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 1 new case and 3 recoveries. The county currently has 17 active cases. Overall, the county has had 5,634 cases and 5,522 recoveries. There’s currently 95 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 31,719 cases, followed by Pennington County with 13,851, and Lincoln County with 8,715, Other counties totals include Codington with 4,648, Brookings with 4,231, Davison with 3,245, Yankton with 3,111, and Lawrence with 3,007.

Statewide 354,727 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 55% of the state) with 325,931 completing vaccination(under 50% of the state).  Brown County has 17,053 receiving at least one shot & 15,855 completing vaccination.
