SD Dept of Health reports no new COVID-19 related deaths through Friday

PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported no new COVID-related deaths, while active cases decreased & hospitalizations increased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,027. The state had 19 new cases and 29 recoveries, increasing active infections to 154. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 31.

So far, South Dakota has had 124,411 cases and 122,230 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 2 new cases and 2 recoveries. The county currently has 2 active cases. Overall, the county has had 5,637 cases and 5,540 recoveries. There’s currently 95 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 31,751 cases, followed by Pennington County with 13,900, and Lincoln County with 8,721, Other counties totals include Codington with 4,651, Brookings with 4,234, Davison with 3,247, Yankton with 3,113, and Lawrence with 3,007.

Statewide 362,554 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 56% of the state) with 338,044 completing vaccination(over 51% of the state). Brown County has 17,338 receiving at least one shot & 16,443 completing vaccination.
