SD Dept of Health reports no new COVID-19 related deaths through Monday

PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported no new COVID-related deaths, while active cases & hospitalizations decreased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,027. The state had 36 new cases and 38 recoveries, increasing active infections to 151. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 28.

So far, South Dakota has had 124,446 cases and 122,268 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 3 new cases and no recoveries. The county currently has 5 active cases. Overall, the county has had 5,640 cases and 5,540 recoveries. There’s currently 95 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 31,759 cases, followed by Pennington County with 13,912, and Lincoln County with 8,721, Other counties totals include Codington with 4,653, Brookings with 4,234, Davison with 3,248, Yankton with 3,115, and Lawrence with 3,009.

Statewide 363,868 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 56% of the state) with 340,017 completing vaccination(over 51% of the state). Brown County has 17,395 receiving at least one shot & 16,532 completing vaccination.
