SD Dept of Health reports no new COVID-19 related deaths today

PIERRE, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported no new COVID-related deaths, while active cases & hospitalizations increased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health today. The death total currently at 1,901. The state had 157 new cases and 127 recoveries, increasing active infections to 2,097. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 71.

So far, South Dakota has had 113,753 cases and 109,755 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 4 new cases and 5 recoveries. The county currently has 74 active cases. Overall, the county has had 5,179 confirmed cases and 5,016 recoveries. There’s currently 89 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 28,381 cases, followed by Pennington County with 13,005, and Lincoln County with 7,869. Other counties totals include Codington with 4,037, Brookings with 3,627, Davison with 2,973, Lawrence with 2,836 and Yankton with 2,824.

Statewide 170,208 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(under 30% of the state) with 92,563 completing vaccination(under 20% of the state).  Brown County has 7,576 receiving at least one shot & 4,760 completing vaccination.
