SD Dept of Health reports no new COVID-19 related deaths

PIERRE, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported no new COVID-related deaths, while active cases decreased & hospitalizations increased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 1,946. The state had 238 new cases and 290 recoveries, decreasing active infections to 2,413. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 102.

So far, South Dakota has had 119,705 cases and 115,346 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 11 new cases and 12 recoveries. The county currently has 92 active cases. Overall, the county has had 5,387 cases and 5,204 recoveries. There’s currently 91 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 30,455 cases, followed by Pennington County with 13,371, and Lincoln County with 8,404. Other counties totals include Codington with 4,285, Brookings with 3,958, Davison with 3,154, Yankton with 2,979, and Lawrence with 2,915.

Statewide 298,820 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(under 50% of the state) with 208,485 completing vaccination(under 35% of the state).  Brown County has 14,546 receiving at least one shot & 9,432 completing vaccination.
