PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- On Wednesday the South Dakota Department of Health provided their latest updates regarding COVID-19.

State epidemiologist Josh Clayton told us the vaccine numbers on their website include what’s happening on the federal level.

Secretary of Health, Kim Malsam-Rysdon tells us the allocation of vaccines will increase next week.

Malsam-Rysdon said that if the Johnson & Johnson one shot vaccine is approved over the weekend as expected, the state would see about seven thousand of those doses next week.

Malsam-Rysdon also tells us about changes in term of press conferences going forward about COVID-19.
