WAGNER, S.D.(WNAX)- The South Dakota Department of Transportation has been working on a plan to modify Highway 46 through Wagner from the current four lanes to two lanes with a center turn lane.
Regional D.O.T. Engineer Jay Peppel says they are still in the concept stage.
Peppel says while the public input phase is done, they are working with the City of Wagner.
Peppel says improving safety and travel conditions is a major reason for the project.
There have been mixed opinions on the project in many of the public comments.
Cost of the construction has been estimated at just under eighteen million dollars.
