SD Dept reports no new COVID-19 related deaths for the 2nd straight day

PIERRE, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported no new COVID-related deaths, while active cases increased & hospitalizations remained the same, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 1,938. The state had 184 new cases and 159 recoveries, increasing active infections to 2,443. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 103.

So far, South Dakota has had 118,361 cases and 113,980 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 9 new cases and 5 recoveries. The county currently has 90 active cases. Overall, the county has had 5,331 cases and 5,150 recoveries. There’s currently 91 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 29,959 cases, followed by Pennington County with 13,275, and Lincoln County with 8,277. Other counties totals include Codington with 4,230, Brookings with 3,878, Davison with 3,124, Yankton with 2,946, and Lawrence with 2,897.

Statewide 270,625 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 45% of the state) with 181,003 completing vaccination(over 30% of the state).  Brown County has 12,903 receiving at least one shot & 8,776 completing vaccination.
