PIERRE, S.D.(KCCR)- Some South Dakotans could be dealing with the first significant snow storm of the winter weather season this week as forecasters are watching a possible system toward the end of the work week. That means the South Dakota Department of Transportation will be putting it’s fleet of plows to work in impacted areas. D-O-T Operations Director Craig Smith says unfortunately plow accidents are becoming more common.
Smith says drivers need to know that plows need to operate slower than posted speed limits.
Smith says visibility or the lack of it can also lead to problems.
Forecasters are watching a possible system toward the end of the work week that could impact parts of much of western central and northern South Dakota.
