PIERRE, S.D.(WNAX)- The South Dakota Department of Transportation held a number of public hearings earlier this summer on the STIP, or “Surface Transportation Improvement Plan.”
That is the construction strategy over the next five to ten years.
Transportation Department Secretary Joel Jundt says they hope to have their plans before the Transportation Commission later this month.
Jundt says they do get new suggestions from the public.
Jundt says they do make changes to the STIP every year.
Jundt says it appears federal funding will be stable for a while with over five hundred million dollars coming in every year.
