SD DOT working on cleanup after snowstorm

WATERTOWN, S.D.(KXLG)- The entire state of South Dakota was pounded by a massive winter storm dropping excessive amounts of snow across the state and making travel nearly impossible.

Mark Peterson, Aberdeen Region Engineer with the South Dakota Department of Transportation, has had crews working around the clock to keep the roads safe.

Peterson says a lot of roads are still closed.

No one wants to get stuck, so it’s best to stay home.

Even if your area didn’t receive a large amount of snow, the high winds could wreak havoc.

Peterson has been with the SD DOT for over 20 years.

Peterson reminds those who can stay home please do so and to keep up with the road conditions by calling 511 or downloading the app.
