SD Executive Board questions policy on E.S.G. investments

PIERRE, S.D.(WNAX)- Members of the South Dakota legislature’s Executive Board questioned state policy concerning E.S.G. investments.

Those are investments in companies that have high scores in environmental and social policies.

State Investment Officer Matt Clark says they invest state dollars in all types of companies.

Clark says they only look at potential value returned.

Clark says some ESG policies drive good investment returns.

Clark says a 2010 state law requires them to only consider potential returns when working with state dollars.
