SD Game, Fish, & Parks to address issues at Lewis & Clark Lake

YANKTON, S.D.(WNAX)- The Game, Fish and Parks Department has a project planned to again dredge out parts of the Springfield Marina on the western end of Lewis & Clark Lake.

District Park Supervisor Shane Bertsch says silt has to be move out of those areas again.

Bertsch says they plan to move over ten thousand cubic yards of silt.

Bertsch says they want to open up the marina and bay to a decent depth.

Bertsch says the silt moves in from the Niobrara River and natural riverbank erosion. He says they hope to start the project later this fall.
