PIERRE, S.D.(WNAX)- Raising pay is one-way employers can attract the workers they need.
That was a topic extensively discussed by the Governors Board of Economic Advisors at their meeting in Pierre last week.
Board member David Chicoine says other board members talked about their experiences in raising wages.
Chicoine, former President of South Dakota State University, says more people stayed on the job in the state during the pandemic.
Chicoine says some businesses are changing the way they manage their support staff.
The board heard projections from the state Bureau of Finance and Management that the states economy is projected to continue growing at a five to six percent rate over the next two years.
