PIERRE, S.D.(WNAX)- Funding for major housing development is hung up in the South Dakota House. The plan backed by Governor Kristi Noem would allocate two hundred million dollars to loan and grant funds for housing infrastructure.
Representative Richard Vasgaard of Centerville says small towns need to be included in the funding.
Much of the money will be for housing infrastructure like water, sewer and roads. Vasgaard says that would be on target.
Vasgaard says putting much of the money in revolving loan funds would make the most sense.
The House pulled one hundred fifty million dollars in state funds from the bill, leaving fifty million in federal funds. The Senate had earlier approved the entire package.
