PIERRE, S.D.(WNAX)- The South Dakota legislature wrapped up the first half of the session last Friday.

House Majority Leader Kent Peterson of Salem says they are watching the bills pile up.

Peterson says bills are moving rapidly through the House.

House Minority Leader Jamie Smith of Sioux Falls says it’s about what he expected so far, including some disappointments.

Smith says democrats deserve to be included in important discussions.

Smith says there have been some positive changes from last year.

477 bills have been introduced through the end of the initial filing period.
