YANKTON, S.D.(WNAX)- District 18 Representative Mike Stevens appeared before the Yankton School Board at their meeting Monday night to talk about the upcoming legislative session.
Stevens says Governor Kristi Noem’s proposal to provide a six percent increase in state aid to schools is just an idea at this point.
Stevens says legislators will have a full schedule during the session.
Stevens told the board that he thinks school boards should be able to set their own educational standards.
The legislative session starts on January 11th.
