PIERRE, S.D.(KCCR)- A small faction of South Dakota House members managed to stall out the rapid progress of a bill to clarify the direction of 200-million dollars in funding for housing infrastructure. Senate Bill 41 was on the House floor Friday. Representative Roger Chase says the bill is largely unchanged from last year.
Representative John Mills offered the first of two possible amendments to bill.
Representative Liz May moved a failed motion to drop Senate Bill 41’s emergency clause. Chase says the emergency clause is to prevent the loss of a second construction season from using the funds.
Final action on Senate Bill 41 was deferred to Monday afternoon.
