SIOUX FALLS, S.D.(WNAX)- South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem proposed a six percent increase in state aid to education along with similar raises for state employees and community health care workers.

Senator Reynold Nesiba of Sioux Falls says that’s not enough.

Nesiba says many of those workers have been at the front of the Covid-19 fight.

Nesiba says there also needs to be adjustments for corrections department workers.

Nesiba, a democrat, is a member of the Joint Committee on Appropriations.
