PIERRE, S.D.(WNAX)- South Dakota legislative budget writers are grinding through the details to come up with a final version next week. Governor Kristi Noem proposed a two-point four percent increase for state workers, community service providers and state aid to education.
Senate Appropriations Committee Chair, Jean Hunhoff of Yankton, says they will probably stick to those recommendations.
Hunhoff says the budget they are writing for next year is not the problem.
Hunhoff says the final budget is a balancing act.
Hunhoff says they hope to move the budget out for debate by next Tuesday.
